Welcome
So what is a teaching philosophy all about?
For any non teachers reading this, your teaching philosophy is the way you teach and your ideas regarding teaching.
For me, I teach each & every student as if they are my own child, I never ever limit the learning capacity of children & instil in my students a love of learning and a love of science. I create an environment where everyone's ideas & opinions are valued. I understand that all children learn differently & that's why I engage with every individual in my class.
As teachers we must focus on every aspect of the child as these have a direct effect on the child's learning. Every child is precious & comes with their own unique character. Being a mother & a teacher, I recognise that my actions have a profound effect on the development of the child. I explain to my students the importance of acceptance & respect;all people should be treated equally regardless of gender, sexuality, race, culturally, religiously & linguistically diverse & those with learning difficulties.
Since living in Australia, I have been a supporter of Indigenous Education, I have organised the science workshop & a week of activities for the Aboriginal Enrichment Programme & participated in the Aurora Project workshop at Melbourne University. This was a defining moment to hear the experiences of Indigenous children & the abhorrent racism that they have faced throughout their lives. I believe by incorporating indigenous education into the classroom, we CAN make a difference!
"We all Stand on Sacred Ground - Learn, Respect & Celebrate"
I sum up my teaching philosophy in two sentences.
No Limits To Learning !
Believe & You Can Achieve!
