Gifted Education - A Personal Journey
The Beginnings |
Having an extremely gifted child changed my life and I started a journey navigated by few parents. I began to study gifted education in order to understand how my child thinks & learns. Combining my extensive scientific knowledge & passion for gifted children, I was invited by Mensa Victoria & primary schools to run programmes for gifted students & present to parents of Mensa, these include;
*Polymer Chemistry *Acid-Base Bronsted Lowry Reactions *Science in the Kitchen *Immersion into Japanese Language & Culture *Cultural Diversity & Globalisation *What is Giftedness? *Identifying Giftedness *How to raise a Gifted Child *Education for the Gifted Child *Do I need an IQ test? *Gifted Programmes within Schools *Schools & Parents Working Together for the Gifted Child |
Due to my experience, I started a parent-child holiday gathering at MENSA Victoria and ran holiday science workshops for these amazingly intellectual children. I organised and delivered the science seminar at The Mensa Kids Conference 2014 (Nov) . I am a voluntary advisor to parents of gifted children at Mensa advising on education, gifted resources & schooling. I also am a committee member for the Victorian Association of Gifted and Talented Children (VAGTC) and am currently writing a book about giftedness and gifted education.
